San Francisco Cotzal is one of the largest coffee plantations in Guatemala with almost a thousand hectares of cultivated area. It is located in the Departamento del Quiché and is located in Quiché, Guatemala.
The owners not only take care of their coffee and its quality, but also the workers and their families. Just some of the benefits received by the workers include new housing, schools and communal kitchens.
The ripe coffee is picked by hand, with several separate passes as the cherries reach peak maturation. It is then pulped on the same day, fully washed and dried in the sun on patios.
