A powerful stream of heated air keeps the beans moving as they roast. It distributes heat through the batch and carries away the chaff released during roasting. We control the incoming air temperature and track bean temperature throughout the roast. This gives us a precise environment to develop each coffee and repeat the profiles our customers return for.
Propane-powered production
Our Sivetz runs on propane. We manage the roast through airflow, temperature and time, choosing profiles for the coffee in the cup. Full batches and repeatable profiles support productive roasting. Our VortX adds another important advantage: treating the exhaust without a second fuel-burning stage.
VortX EcoFilter: cleaner exhaust without an afterburner
Traditional thermal afterburners burn additional fuel to treat roasting exhaust. Our VortX EcoFilter takes a different approach: cyclone action and atomized water capture particulates and help reduce visible smoke and odours.
The system recirculates its water and uses an electric pump rather than a second combustion stage. That avoids the additional fuel burn of a conventional thermal afterburner while helping us manage our impact on the surrounding neighbourhood.
Less additional combustion. Thoughtful exhaust treatment.
Compared with a roaster paired with a fuel-fired thermal afterburner, our setup avoids the additional combustion—and its associated CO₂ emissions—needed to operate that afterburner. The advantage comes from the complete system: productive hot-air roasting and water-based exhaust treatment.
Capacity reflects BBCR’s production setup. Exhaust-treatment description is based on VortX’s technology information. No quantified emissions reduction is claimed for our installation.
