Typhoon — Electric precision

Typhoon 5 kg · BBCR Select

Our next chapter: precise digital controls, electric hot-air roasting and a smaller batch size built for exploration.

More control over every roast

Our white 5 kg Typhoon brings software-based roast control and a transparent roasting chamber to the process. Digital profiles let us track temperature and timing, refine the development of each coffee and repeat the results that taste best. The 5 kg format gives us room to explore distinctive coffees with the same attention we bring to everyday production.

Hot air keeps the beans moving and transfers the heat. The clear chamber lets us watch their development alongside the roast data—combining modern controls with a roaster’s judgement.

Electric efficiency, with a Québec advantage

Electric heating removes the need to burn propane or natural gas to generate roasting heat. Typhoon designs its fluid-bed roasters around efficient heat transfer and energy use, making electricity central to the way they roast.

Here in Québec, that choice has an additional advantage: Hydro-Québec reports electricity generated from more than 99% renewable sources on an annual basis. Efficient electric roasting paired with this power supply supports our aim to reduce the climate impact of roasting.

Low impact starts with how the heat is made.

Electric heat, thoughtful energy use and precise control. Roasting still uses resources and produces exhaust, but the Typhoon gives us a practical path away from fossil-fuel heating.

A new platform for BBCR Select

The Typhoon will support BBCR Select, our upcoming range of coffees. Its 5 kg format gives us another way to explore coffees and develop profiles while our Sivetz keeps everyday production moving.
