Yemen coffee is historically rich and often grown in challenging, high-altitude mountainous regions. Organically grown and cultivated using long-established Yemeni farming practices without synthetic fertilizers, Yemen coffee is unique.
Yemen was once a major producer and exporter of coffee. However, the war that began in 2015 and the ongoing conflict have disrupted trade routes, increasing shipping costs and limiting exports. These challenges have made it difficult for producers to reach international markets. In recent years, interest in Yemeni coffee has been resurgent. BBCR has the privilege of offering Yemen coffee as a single origin for February 2026.
These organic Yemeni Arabica beans are sourced from smallholder farms near the Mokha region. The coffee is grown on traditional terraced mountains and processed using the natural sun-dried method, with cherries dried whole before being hulled and hand sorted.
With a rich and complex flavour profile, each cup is an invitation to experience the unique flavours of Yemen's coffee legacy.
