Winner of the 2023 New Sustainable Product Award from the Specialty Coffee Association of Japan (SCAJ), the Cerapotta ceramic coffee filter uses tiny pores only 5 µm in diameter (thinner than a hair!) to filter out impurities and preserve the essential aromas of your water.
Adjust your brewing technique with cerapota to obtain more or less robust aromas, according to your preferences.
With the Cerapotta, there's no need to use soap or detergent: a simple rinse after each use is all it takes! If the water flow decreases or an acidic aftertaste develops, the Cerapotta may be clogged and requires maintenance. The ceramic filter can be unclogged and sterilized by boiling it in water in a pot or microwave. The Cerapotta's materials are naturally dirt-repellent for easy maintenance and cleaning.
The Cerapotta blends Japanese tradition and technology. Hasami porcelain has been made in Nagasaki for 400 years. The Cerapotta filter combines traditional techniques with the latest modern technologies. Shaping, drying, and firing are still done by hand, just as they were in the past. The texture of the ceramic, the sound it makes during filtration, and the subtle aromas it releases perfectly complement Japanese aesthetics.
