Price adjustments

Since our inception in 2017, BBCR has had a mission for approachable specialty coffee. We accomplish this by our green coffee selections, roasting styles, packaging, and of course pricing. While we have made many changes from our name, to packaging style, to our state of the art roaster and facility, our pricing hasn’t changed since 2021. However —due to the highest price on green coffee exports ever recorded, transportation challenges and price increases, and operational challenges such as package sourcing — we have had to make the difficult decision to increase our pricing for our bagged coffee starting December 9, 2024.
For most of our coffees the change is minimal. A few even saw no change as the pricing was in line.
For me as the owner of BBCR it was critically important that I ensured we stayed to our roots and continued my desire for approachable specialty coffee. As I researched what we needed to do, this also led me to looking at the pricing from our peers locally. One area I noticed was the vast majority are now selling in 340 gram sized bags, rather than the 454 grams (1 lbs) that BBCR has always used. There are a number of reasons why coffee companies do that, but what I’ve seen as a trend is less product for the same price. Below, I took some of our local peer pricing, posted on their websites available to the public, and matched it up to our new pricing. Because the majority of them package to 340 grams, I’ve also put a simple conversion on the information below to highlight what a bag of their coffee would cost, if they sold at 454 grams (1 lbs). As you can see, even with our new pricing BBCR is very competitively priced in the specialty coffee market.
We have also increased our subscription discount rate from 10% to 18%! If you decide to become a BBCR coffee subscriber our pricing advantage now becomes even greater.
All said, thank you all for your support since 2017. We hope to be able to continue the coffee adventure with you into 2025 and beyond!
Stay curious,
